What an honor it is to have a front row seat to all that God does in the lives of local college students. What a fantastic year! Thank you to all our volunteers and our local church partners. Looking forward to 2019-2020!

Journey through a 40 Day prayer prompt for Texas Baptist Missionaries serving on college campuses across the great state of Texas. Sign up for a daily email prompting you with ways to pray.
Today I met a “Beth” at our last BSM FREE Lunch for 2016. She has given me her blessing to share the following with you so you could add her to your prayer list, if you would like to do so. Today was our first time to meet and her first time at any BSM event. She enjoyed her free pizza and our group conversation about Christmas. Beth lingered until everyone had left and we spent the next hour talking together, during which she informed me of several events during the last year of her life that many individuals never experience in 50 years.
Beth mentioned that she felt “drawn” to our lunch but did not know why. She mentioned that she has had an experience with God earlier in life but has spent recent years away from Him. Her life events of 2016 are pushing her to engage with faith again. She admittedly is unsure what that means and is wrestling with whether she believes there can be a loving Being if he/she allows horrific events to continue to unfold in her life. Beth was eager to talk about faith and is interested in further prayer and conversation about faith. Please pray that God reveals himself to her and her husband, shows them His unfailing love, and brings healing during uncertain times. Feel free to leave a comment or pray below - I'm sure she'd be encouraged. ![]() The instructions of Jesus as he sent out missionaries to spread the Gospel. "The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." Luke 10:2 NLT This past week I had the pleasure of spending a few days with the TX BSM Staff @ DBU for the annual BSM Conference before the Fall semester hits. I felt like I was home & with my people (others who love college students and live to invest in their lives). Needless to say, my time was encouraging (this is a work that impacted the lives of nearly 125,000 Texas students last year), enlightening (through new information and timely seminars), & empowering (something to remember on those lonely days out on the campus - Texas Baptist believe in BSM). All this being true. It struck me that 1.5 million college students in Texas is a BIG MISSION FIELD! Would you join me in praying for each of the existing TXBSM Staff and pray for that more would join us? |
